You Can Watch National Treasure & Independence Day During Independence Mall’s “Movies on the Mall” Series
Ever wanted to watch National Treasure in front of the very building it was filmed at? What about enjoying Will Smith’s Independence Day at that very same location? Well, you can because the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation (“Visitor Center”), Independence Historical Trust (“the Trust”), the National Park Service, and Liberty Garden are bringing back the popular “Movies on the Mall” series.
Also supported by the Historic District Partners, this free outdoor movie series invites families, friends, and history lovers alike to experience films under the stars on Philadelphia’s iconic Independence Mall.
Following a successful debut season in 2024 that drew more than 2,000 guests, the 2025 Movies on the Mall series expands to four nights celebrating the themes and history connected to Independence National Historical Park.
All movie nights will begin at dusk, with pre-show activities starting at 5:30 p.m., including 18th-century games, arts and crafts, and more. Liberty Garden will offer refreshments and beverages onsite. Screens will be set up outside the Independence Visitor Center (599 Market Street, Philadelphia), facing 5th Street between Market and Arch Streets. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks. The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is encouraged. Walk-ups are also welcome.
