If you missed last year’s Juneteenth Block Party featuring Kid N’ Play, you won’t want to miss it again. That’s right, the African American Museum in Philadelphia (701 Arch St.) will once again be celebrating Juneteenth with a block party to” commemorate the 160th legacy of Juneteenth and celebrate our 49th anniversary as one of the first institutions funded and built by a major municipality to preserve, interpret, and exhibit the heritage of African Americans,” AMMP states.

Headlined by Lady Alma and DJ Drama, the block party will take place June 19th for 10 am to 7 pm and will also include live performances, a beer garden, vendors, and much more. Guests will get to shop Black-owned businesses, savor delicious local eateries, and experience fun for the entire family.

Hosted by Patty Jackson, there will be performances throughout the day by DJ Na$h, Mother Bethel A.M.E Choir, Third Regiment Infantry, Youba, Zeek Burse , and history by Founding Footsteps Trolley Tour, and Darrien Johnson.

Guests 21 + can enjoy a Beer Garden featuring free samples of DeLeon Tequila, wine courtesy of Chaddsford Winery, and Tito’s Lemonade & Tito’s Lemonade Spritz courtesy of Tito’s Handmade Vodka available for purchase.

Adults will also have an opportunity to treat themselves to wellness and relaxation activities at Well-being on Wheels presented by Independence Blue Cross, along with nutrition takeaways in partnership with Sharing Excess. For the kids, Sesame Place will be giving away free books in the PECO Kid Zone.

For food, look for The Oasis Food Market supported by Philadelphia International Airport which will have plenty of  food trucks,  Rita’s Italian Ice, the official Italian ice of Wawa Welcome America 2025.

For those looking to tour the museum, admittance into the museum is on a first-come, first-served basis and in accordance with gallery capacity.
